About Me

My name is Philippe Vincent and I am an artist, specialized in illustration and character design. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Ottawa with a specialization in painting, and a college certificate in Drawing Foundations from Algonquin College. By the end of August I will have my certificate for Illustration & Concept Art, marking the end of my post-secondary studies and the beginning of my transition into the industry.

I’ve always had a passion for art since before I can even recall. As a toddler I couldn’t put down my crayons; it's simply what I loved doing more than anything else. In my childhood I just was really absorbed in the worlds and creations that I was presented with like Pokemon or Naruto, it simply pushed me to keep drawing and participate in this enthralling relationship between viewer and media.

As I grew up, video games slowly became a huge part of my life and remain my biggest inspiration for making art and doing what I do now. Over the years, works like Final Fantasy, Tomb Raider, Megami Tensei, Resident Evil, and Drakengard deeply moved me and kept me going.

My previous work experience with regards to being a freelance artist include miscellaneous commissions for clients online, doing art for indie games like Mother by Horror Shop Games, and most notably Luna Sanctus Tactics which is a game the developer and I have been working on for a number of years now.

For that project I am the lead character designer and illustrator for the game, which entails designing the characters, illustrating their in-game dialogue portraits with different expressions, a number of UI assets and splash art, and promotional illustrations, such as the cover art and character renders. One of the benefits of working on such a small team for a project is getting to wear many hats and taking on new responsibilities outside of your comfort zone. I have also created logos and artworks for local businesses and events such as Gallery 55 in the ByWard Market as well as the Day of the Dead Festival.
